Sa Dingding’s concert performance at WOMAD New Zealand 2009

This journal entry features black and white photos of Sa Dingding’s concert performance at WOMAD – World of Music Art and Dance. WOMAD is an annual event and is held  at the Bowl of Brooklands and TSB Bowl of Brooklands situated within Pukekura Park, in New Plymouth, New Zealand.

“Sa Dingding’s concert performances are dazzling affairs with Kung Fu style dancers, stunning costumes and in the midst of it all songs borne of Chinese folk music combined with Western electronica. Sa Dingding has been called China’s answer to Bjork or Kate Bush. Not only a multi-instrumentalist she sings in four languages and won a BBC Radio Three award for Best Asia/Pacific Act.”
