Refracted Glass Bead Magic Portal

This geometric piece looks like a magical portal. I wonder where it will transport me. Notice how the light is refracted in the glass beads. It projects an array of beautiful colours, and a tiny sprite is the guardian of the portal.

I’m attracted to bright, shiny objects, and I noticed this interesting chandelier-style ring pendant in an apartment complex in Newstead, Brisbane, Australia.

As part of my practice, I experiment with patterns and attempt to create kaleidoscope-type imagery. It’s a ton of fun, and sometimes something magical is created.

The photographs posted here started as a single photograph. I rotated the image, duplicated it, and locked them together. They’re recent additions to the Kaleidoscope series of black-and-white artworks. If, like me, you enjoy repeating patterns, here is a link to another journal entry that uses baby bird feathers to create an enchanting artwork.
